Is baking a graphics card in my oven dangerous?

Time:2019-05-10 14:38:12 Click:

Nope. You know, if a graphics card is damaged, the fault may be caused by cold solder joint of SMD components such as graphics card memory or core. In this case, with the help of high temperature treatment like baking in the oven, it will melt the solder and re-build a good connection during solidification for those place where it is cold solder joint. That’s to say, baking a graphics card in your oven is a useful way to eliminate the fault.

However, for certain components of circuit board, such as electrolytic capacitor, we’d better not use this way, because it’s extremely easy to explode due to the high temperature. Instead, the better choice is reparing in a professional store.
